Theres no shortage of LED mirrors on the market but are the cheaper ones any good? In our opinion, no.
There are a few key points when looking for a quality LED mirror and Lumixe meets all of them.
Firstly the glass. The mirror material itself is very important. After all its literally what you will be looking at. A lot of cheaper mirrors on the market claim to use ‘copper free’ silver mirror but actually dont. Its very hard to tell just by looking at them and thats why so many get away with it but a lot of the cheaper mirrors only use plain silver mirror. This may be fine for a short period but the edges will start to de silver MUCH faster than a true copper free mirror.
Secondly is the construction. All the materials used on a Lumixe mirrors is rust, corrosion and moisture proof. LED mirrors generally live in bathrooms so they need to withstand humid enviroments for exteneded periods. Beware of cheaper mirrors using iron or mild steel frames as they can rust or worse wood or foam which is the cheapest and will rot and degrade over time.
Thirdly is the electrics. We have done extensive in house testing and only use high quality electial components that last. That includes the driver, LED strip, defogger pad, speakers and power switchs/supply. Cheaper mirrors tend to use poor quality components that give off poor performance and simply dont last.
Forth is the finish. This is also what sets apart the high quality products from the cheap ones. Cheap mirrors are usually finished very poorly and just dont look as good. The edges wont be polished evenly, the dimensions may be out, glue can be found everywhere, wires are not soldered correctly or sealed correctly so they are not really IP44 which can cause another entire lot of issues.
Lastly is the warranty and service. Everyone will be your best freind when you’re making the purchase but what happens after that? Will they honour a warranty claim 23 months after the sale when it fails? Unlikely. In conclusion, if you’re only wanting a mirror that has an LED and a reflection and may last you 12 months or so, sure go a cheapy, but if you’re wanting a smart illuminated mirror thats going to make you dream bathroom come to life and one you can rely on, go the Lumixe mirror. You wont regret it.
