What goes into a Lumixe mirror

We cant give to much away but here's a behind the scenes look at what goes into our mirrors

The design

The design or look and feel of a Lumixe mirror is almost the number one priority when developing our product range.  We put considerable time and research into what’s trending and will push the boundaries on new innovative designs.

Our range consists of various shapes, sizes, styles and finishes to suit any bathroom design and achieve any dream space.

The construction

When constructing our mirrors the main design elements are strength, longevity, ease of installation and cost to the end user.

Different models will obviously utilize slightly different constructions due to their shapes but the basics are the same. We use an all aluminum construction.  Not only is it rust proof but also strong and lightweight.   This included the hanging brackets and the concealed anodized LED strip framework.   We use this framework to offer a higher protection to the LED strip and with the added light diffuser, it helps to create a softer lighting effect from all angles.  This way you wont see the individual LEDs from any view point like on some mirrors.

The electrical

Smart mirror technology has come a long way in recent times and so has its reliability.   That being said, at Lumixe we still en-devour to use the highest quality parts we can source.

All our hardware including the LED driver, LED strip, touch buttons, defogger pad, bluetooth speakers and wiring is rated to or exceeds the appropriate requirements.

  • SMD 2835 – 120 beads per meter – CRI>80
  • Lumes 690LU/meter (tri colour)
  • Input 220-240VAC 50/60Hz – Power (20W, 30W, 40W)

The ratings and standards

All our mirrors are fully tested to meet Austrlian Standards and have the neccesaery certificates to be used and sold in Australia and New Zealand.

All mirrors are IP44 tested and rated.

Testing according to:

  • AS/NZS 60598.2.1
  • AS/NZS 60598.1
  • AS/NZS CISPR 15

The packaging

In todays fast paced world we need to make sure our mirrors not only arrive quickly and safely but also in the most environmentally friendly and sustainable way possible.  After extensive in house drop testing our range comes packaged in either 5 layer cardboard or honeycomb panels depending on the size and amount of safety required. To date we have less than 1% damaged or broken in transit.

We dont use any polystyrene and opt for a custom molded EPE foam insert instead. This not only supports and protects the mirror more, its also mess free and a recyleable material!
