Are LED mirrors good for doing make-up?

In short, yes and no.

This is a very common question when it comes to illuminated mirrors and the answer really depends on what you model you choose and how much light you require to do your make-up.

First is the model choice.  You need to choose a model thats frontlit.  Backlit models offer almost zero light directly in front on the glass where you would be standing so they wont be much help.  Frontlit however allow light to travel through the glass and directly onto your face when in front of the mirror.

Second is the amount of light.  This will vary on model to model and also the amount of light required will vary from person to person.  If the mirror is frontlit ONLY it will also capture more light and send it forward instead of frontlit and backlit which will share the light between the two and not be as bright.

The answer… If you only require a little extra lighting on your face then you would probably be happy with an illuminted frontlit model however if you’re after a more dedicated make-up mirror that provides a substantional amount of light we normally recommend looking at hollywood style mirror.
